A step back in time.

Still winding down from revisions earlier in the week (and frankly, not in the mood to write) so last night, curled up on the couch and watched Flashdance.
Now, I'm a child of the eighties. I love the music, the memories, though I can leave the fashion (especially those ugly leg warmers for if you're a shorty like me, they really didn't do much for you!)
The amazing thing, I've never seen Flashdance in its entirety. Sure, the movie is dated but I loved it! The whole 'girl from the wrong side of the tracks doing it tough to achieve her dream', inspiring stuff! Found myself humming 'What a Feeling' for an hour afterwards...and blogging about it today.
Long live the eighties!

As long as I don't have to wear shoulder pads again. What was it they eat in that movie? I remember that scene being quite .. quite ...

Lobster!
And yes, it's 'quite'!!

And boy, do I hear you about the shoulder pads. Hideous things....

Great scene. I still cry when she does the big dance thing at the end and the judge lady claps!

And for the record I adore leg warmers. And I'm wearing fingerless gloves as we speak!

I've never seen it. Terrible isn't it? However, I have seen Dirty Dancing a few times :-)

If you've seen DD a few times, you're forgiven :)
That is my all time favourite movie!

I see myself as belonging to both the 70s and the 80s. The 70s because that was my teen era and the 80s because that's when I did my clubbing. Oh how I remember the denim jackets with bits of lace and stuff sewn on them... the bits of fabric in the hair... flat pumps... rara skirts... I loved it all.

I loved the ra-ra skirts!
And the 70s were all about Abba for me.
Great memories...
