The trophy

So, my NRCA trophy arrived in the mail recently, all the way from the USA.

It's heavy. Seriously heavy.
My editor, who attended the award ceremony, nicknamed it 'the tombstone'.

At the moment, I have it sitting almost in front of me on my desk.
Whenever those doubt demons perch on my shoulder to whisper in my ear, I glance at this award and soldier on.

After 44 books, you'd think it gets easier, right?
No.
Every single book is as hard to write as the last.
And I wouldn't have it any other way.

I won the RBY!!!

I'm absolutely THRILLED I won the RuBY!!!!

Or more precisely, my heroine Ruby in Marrying the Enemy won the RUBY!

Sadly, I was unable to attend the awards ceremony so the very gracious Anne Gracie accepted the award on my behalf and delivered my acceptance speech.

I've been sick for the last few weeks, so was curled up on the couch glued to Twitter as the announcements rolled in...and was stunned to see my name pop up as the winner!

I'm so stoked that readers loved this book as much as I do.

Now, to make space in my office... :)

Awards night

Tonight, this book that won the National Readers' Choice Award recently is up for a RBY award (RWAust. Romantic Book of the Year.)

Sadly, I'm not at the awards ceremony but I'm keeping everything crossed!

I've finalled in many major awards but this is the first time I've actually won, so it's extra special for  me. I'm no longer a bridesmaid, woohoo!

Add to that, this book is my favourite Harlequin I've written so I'm doubly thrilled.

I love it when the cover fairies get it right and that's what has happened here, with a scene straight from MARRYING THE ENEMY.

When asked their favourite book, authors often can't choose, likening it to choosing between their kids.

For me, I can categorically say this is my favourite Harlequin book I've written.

There was something special about Jax and Ruby from the moment they strutted into my imagination and then translated onto the page.
