Here it is!
Still trying to catch up on hundreds of emails while I was away, but I've just scanned the cover for INHERITED: BABY so here it is.
Opinions please?
I started reading the book yesterday and it's such a surreal experience, going from writing the story on a PC screen to reading the words in print. Maya is a single mum doing it tough and Riley is the brother of her dead fiance. I'm a quarter of the way through, where Riley (a citified stockbroker) has taken over Maya's horse strapper duties for a few weeks.
Tom Williams was the inspiration behind Riley. Once I find the pic I used, I'll pop that up here too. Just to entice you a little...

Dear Nicola, I love your books and this story sounds great, but I would probably never pick this up as it has the giant baby on the cover, but knowing it is yours I will buy it!!!! I don't mind the baby story, but lots of USA books have the baby covers and I am not enamoured of them. I prefer the couple and a background. I especially like it when there is an Australian flavour to our books!!! Apparently, the Harbour Bridge is visible from every romantic bedroom or office in almost every book!!!
I agree with 2paw on the baby. COuld they have made the baby any bigger??
I *hate* baby pictures on covers, and I will only even look at the back cover blurb if I'm already familiar with the author and like her work. And even then I'll be thinking "Hmmm... maybe later. Let's see what else is there this month."
And I had to laugh about the Harbour Bridge comment. I once read a book set in Adelaide that somehow managed to have the Harbour Bridge in it! Quite a feat, if you ask me.
Covers will always be subjective. IMHO there's more women out there who will pick up a baby cover than won't.
When all's said and done, any discerning reader who doesn't like a cover will make their final decision based on the blurb and author.
Just my thoughts...
Sue :-)
Thanks for the opinions, girls!
You're reiterating what I already feel...hmm...I feel a plummet in sales coming on :(
Sue, I really hope you're right! :)
Hey Nic! I've never had a baby cover...yet.
But I want this baby for my very own. Have you seen one any cuter ever? Apart from in your own home of course;).
Silhouette Romance have done babay covers for eons so they must sell really well too. I'm thiking upturn!!! And a whole bevy of new readers. The old readers, like us, will buy it because its yours so its win win!
Ally
Thanks Ally :)
That's a really positive spin on it!
Hi Nic,
Coming in a bit late, but I absolutely looooove this cover.
I'm not one for baby stories, but I'd definately buy this book. That little guy is so cute!
